The Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower is pictured in June 1945, shortly after the end of World War II.

The Eiffel Tower is a 19th Century iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. Built as an entry way to the World's Fair between 1887 and 1889, the 1063 foot tower stood as the world's tallest structure until 1931, equaling the height of an 81 story building. The Eiffel Tower remains today the tallest building in Paris, and one of its' most popular tourist attractions.

Fort Ticonderoga

Fort Ticonderoga is an 18th Century fort built in 1755 - 1758 near the south end of Lake Champlain in upstate New York. The site was strategically important during the 18th Century colonial conflicts between Great Britain and France, and to a lesser extent during the American Revolutionary War. A popular tourist attraction today and a museum, it was designated a National Historic Landmark on October 9, 1960. It would eventually be placed on the National Registry of Historic Places on October 15, 1966.

Good Against Evil
