Tourists who visited New Hampshire in the past were always drawn to Echo Lake in Franconia, where high above the lake on the edge of Franconia Notch was located The Old Man of The Mountain. It was a natural rock formation in the form of a man's facial profile. It is believed that the Old Man was born out of the ice age, resulting in the formation.
